The Expressway Monitoring and Advisory System is an important part of Singapore's Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)which consists of the following four systems:

• Automatic Traffic Management System (ATMS)
• Vehicle Detection System (VDS)
• Automatic Incident Detection System (AIDS)
• Variable Message System (VMS)

Combining these system and equipment, our variable message signs (VMS) in EMAS project can provide real-time traffic information for travelers to have awareness and quickly respond to traffic accidents. The VMS can help to reduce traffic congestions and improve road safety.

Because the system architecture of EMAS itself is very large, we had close discussions with local system vendors on how to integrate the technologies and capabilities of both parties and provide a variety of Variable Message Signage Systems which allow travelers to have the best and safest driving experience.

The positive attitude of Formolight to provide the best quality products, got a great support from the local industry. Formolight nowadays has provided more than 90% of the Variable Message Signage System in Singapore, and we can proudly say, "On roads of Singapore, the light when you head up and see, is the Formolight"
